linking cells within the same sheet

I am trying to create a star or check box on my sheet that automatically checks if another cell has a "yes" answer. This would be super helpful and I see a lot of requests for something similar in the community.

Please consider adding this function

There are two possible ways to do this right now:

• You could use a formula to look at that cell for "Yes" and then check the box if it's true. This would be a column formula though, so you wouldn't be able to manually check boxes in other rows.
• You could use a Change Cell workflow to automatically check the box when "yes" is in the other cell. This would allow you to update other rows manually, too.

Is there a reason either of these options won't work in your scenario? It would be helpful to know more information!
