Why are Paste and Paste Special Grayed out

I have 21 Project plans with identical formatting. I created a separate sheet to roll up the percent complete in the parent rows by section. I have done similar in the past, however this time when I go to paste special and link to copied cells, both paste and paste special are grayed out.

I am staying within the same browser window.

Can you provide screenshots (with sensitive data blocked out) with an example showing the source and target cells?

and the destination (it worked once and now wont work for subsequent)

I would submit a support ticket. Another person in the community was having issues with cell links being inaccurate, so he contacted support and they had to force a refresh on the backend.

When you say that you're in the same browser window, can I confirm you mean the same tab, not just window? Paste Special will only be an option if you've copied the cells from one sheet and then navigate to the other sheet within the same Smartsheet session/tab (exiting one sheet and moving to the other).

Sorry, yes, I meant in the same tab. I created a new sheet starting from a grid and it worked fine.
