How to stop a row updating once locked

I have a sheet that i use as a list of open projects, it pulls names, dates and descriptions form other sheets, I want to be able to lock the data in the row once finished, as I don't want anything updating once the project is finished, but I want to be able to refer to the data to track project history, I tried adding a tick box and if the box is ticked it will lock the row, but the rows columns still update?

This might help.

You'd copy the data to another sheet and then you can add to the formula to check this so-called helper sheet and use the data if there's a match.
