Hello Community,
We sent some advanced notice email communications to SysAdmins earlier this month about several upcoming changes to the Smartsheet experience around user management and login. This is to let you know that the customer release dates of two of the impending changes has been slightly pushed.
- Changes to the user reactivation process post-deactivation: We will be imposing a restriction on the ability to reactivate a user (via Admin Center or APIs) 7 days after their deactivation, starting on Feb. 1, 2024 (the previously communicated date was Jan. 22). This 7-day grace period allows SysAdmins to quickly rectify any deactivation errors, while maintaining security beyond that point. Read this help article to learn more about these changes and the steps to reinstate a deactivated user after the 7-day grace period.
- Moving login policy to the domain level: In the first phase of this change aimed at enhancing the security around user authentication, we will enable SysAdmins to define SAML configurations at the domain level. SAML policies established at the domain level will be applicable to all users within that domain, irrespective of their specific plans. We will also disable the creation of any new plan-level configurations once this feature becomes available on Feb 5, 2024. To learn more about what this entails, please read this help article.
