Our PMO is using Smartsheet to intake project requests from the business users via our intake form - which we love. However, once the project is submitted there is no particularly good way to have the request data that is in the sheet visible back to the business users (requestor, project owner, executive sponsors, steering committee, etc.).
Having them view data in the sheet view isn't really a good user experience.
Idea: It would be ideal if the same form view that was used to submit the intake request, could be used to view data from the sheet (for any given row).
Benefit: Data could be viewed in a more user friendly and understandable format.
I would like to see this same feature.
We use Dynamic Views to review specific data for users. And I was just experimenting with having a report setup for "Current User" and having the report drive the Dynamic View. If you Current User = Requestor, then when they go to the DV, they should just see their requests and just the params that you want them to see.
Also, we send out monthly update requests for each non-complete line item and include the columns that you'd like them to see and update. This is an automation and it works great.
I agree with @Cathy Salscheider that this is a good use case for Dynamic View. With DV you can show your rows in a form view.
Another option would be to use Document Builder to generate a PDF with the layout of your choosing.
You could also use an update request to send a web form to submitter though formatting those can be a bit trickier and limited.
Hope this helps!
