Helper Columns & Sheet Summaries

Hi,

Can you tell me how to link field from summary sheets into a cell on a different sheet in Smartsheet? I have seen other chats on using helper columns, but nothing that provides guidance on the proper formula to use to pull that information. Is there a way to do this?

Hello @Nina R,

Unfortunately Sheet Summary fields cannot be linked or used in cross-sheet functionality. Creating a helper column is the current recommendation for referencing this information on other sheets.

It's not possible to pull directly from the summary fields to another sheet. You can reference a sheet summary field in a cell on the sheet, and then cell link it to another sheet, or cross reference it with a lookup method like INDEX/MATCH

thanks Monique. Do you know the appropriate formula to pull in the helper column for a sheet summary? I can't find anywhere that shows how to do that. The post you shared seems to point to frustration, but now how to do it.

• A workaround would be to link the information to the sheet in helper columns or specific cells.
