Document generation not working for all rows
Hi,
I'm attempting to generate a document based on the agreement trigger checkbox column (which is checked when there is a date in the event approval date). The issue I'm encountering is that for some rows, the document is generated and attached, but for others, it is not attached.
Can someone help me to solve this?

Hi @Joseph Aloysias - The automation for this is something you have created ?
Take a stab on whether it's configured correctly.
Check the trigger condition is set up accurately to detect when the checkbox column is checked based on the presence of a date in the event approval date column.

Can you check the following details:
- Is the trigger being changed by a cross-sheet formula or cell link? Or is it referencing a cell link or formula?
- For the rows where it was not generated, can you confirm that all 3 of your conditions are met? (To test this, I would put a filter on your sheet with the same criteria)

I have set up a date column in the sheet, referencing data from another sheet. In the same sheet, I've created a checkbox triggered by the date column to initiate a workflow.
Currently, the conditions are being met correctly. However, I'm encountering an issue where documents are generated for some rows, but not for others.

To prevent an infinite loop, actions that automatically modify the sheet (such as adding an attachment to the row with Document Builder) can't be triggered by inbound cell-links or cross-sheet formulas. This includes using a formula to check a box based on another cell in the same sheet that's using a cross-sheet formula.
Can you replace the Checkbox formula to be a Change Cell Workflow?

We tried change cell value also, but we are facing the same issues in that method.

Can you post a screen capture of some of the rows that aren't triggering, even when using a change cell workflow? The screen captures above do not include the following columns:
- HcpRole
- Event Type
- Honorarium Required

Thank you so much, this is very helpful! One last thing to check - is it always the ones that say "Class I" that are being skipped? I'm wondering if the I at the end is written differently in the cell versus what's in the workflow, is that possible?
For example: "Class I" is using an upper case i, whereas "Class l" is using a lower case L
Can you copy the contents of one of those cells and add it in as a criteria in your workflow, to see if it adds a new value or if it's the same as what's already there?

Hi @Genevieve P. we have checked that, we are adding the condition from the drop down selection , its not working for other event type like webinar, Stall Fabrication, etc.

I cannot see any reason that this should not trigger - if your trigger is set by a workflow (versus formula), your criteria are all met at the time of the checkbox, then yes, the document should be created.
Please capture a screen recording of the issue and contact Smartsheet Support with the Sheet URL and the Workflow ID that is no longer working, along with if this happens when you clone the workflow, and on a copy of the sheet. They'll be able to troubleshoot this with you in a private channel where you can send more details.
