Can I restrict change alerts to not send when the update is from automations?

I have automation set up to alert me of changes to my sheet but I do not want the alert if the change is from discussion.system@smartsheet.com or automation@smartsheet.com. Is there a way to restrict that?

Hi @Emma Higgins,

Does your sheet have a "modified by" system column? You'll need this system-generated field in your sheet so you can then filter your alert automation by this field. Once this column has been created, add a condition block to filter out rows that were last modified by either of those emails you mentioned, see snip below.
