Resource Management panel icon - not appearing

Hi,

I'm wanting to start using 'Workload tracking'. I've read the learning resource below and set up a new project sheet, however the 'Resource Management panel icon' just isn't appearing. This panel appears to the first step to setting up Workload Tracking.

I've reviewed the Smartsheet community, but can't find anything related to this specific issue.

I'm a system admin and we're on an enterprise plan and I'm the owner of the sheet, so I can't see why shouldn't work.

Can you please advise how the Resource Management panel icon can be displayed? Thanks

  • Hi @EddieM

The first thing I would personally try is to fully log out of Smartsheet then log back in again.

If you're still not seeing the Resource Management icon, try creating a new Sheet to see if the issue is just related to this one sheet. The option to track your team's workload appears when:

    • If starting from a blank sheet, you add two date type columns and a contact type column
    • If starting from Gantt view, a project sheet template, or project assistant template, then immediately upon opening the sheet
    • If you open an existing sheet with data that includes two date type columns and a contact type column

    Here's more information: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/2483101-workload-tracking-in-smartsheet

If this still hasn't helped, I would suggest opening a ticket with Smartsheet Support including a screen recording of the sheet you're working in and the sheet URL.

    Thanks!
    Genevieve

    Hi Genevieve,

Many thanks for your response. I've tried all those steps several times and the issue persists - I'll log a support ticket.

    Thanks

    Eddie.

    Hi @EddieM ,

I thought I was hard to find also. The icon is on the left hand side bar and not the right hand side (contrary to the blogs and instructions). When I click the icon it then asks if I want a free trial of it …..meaning it is another extra costs and hassle (especially if you are non-admin like me). When I request a free trial it just re-loaded the page asking if I wanted a trial ….so I couldn't get the free trial. I find the extra cost apps and add-ons are a bit tricky to find and navigate at times and feel less integrated to the UI than the core product - just my opinion.
