How can I make sure that I always share contacts with full names?

Hello everyone,

I have an issue with the shared list displaying full names and not just email addresses. I am an admin on all sheets and if I try to update an email address and replace it with one in my Contacts list with their full name, it still doesn't show the full name in the shared list. For example:

And this is my contacts list:

In this example, if I delete mharrison@buckeyebroadband.com in the shared list and then add Marcus from my contacts, it will add his email address back in but not his name. How can I ensure that the full name shows on all of the contacts in the shared list? Is it dependent on who initially shares the sheet with someone?

Because that is part of THEIR account.

That is correct. The Sharing is based on the account the item is shared to. The personal contacts are used in contact type columns and automations directly within individual sheets.

Have them double check that their personal settings include their first and last name. I believe this is something to do with each user's profile and not necessarily your contacts.

That makes sense. Do you know why I wouldn't be able to update it even if it was added by someone else with just an email address?

Thanks for the reply Paul. Just to make sure I'm understanding correctly, if I add "Stephanie" as a shared contact (and her name is in my personal contact list), only the email address will show up in the shared list if Stephanie herself doesn't have her name in her Smartsheet profile settings?
