How to send update requests when a new comment is made for certain users only.

Hello,

We use Smartsheet to manage incoming Requests for BusOps and HR requests. I would like to send an update request to our requestors whenever my team makes a comment. However, I do NOT want to send an update request when the initial requestor replies and updates their comment. Is there a way to do this? I feel like I am going crazy trying to figure this out.

I thought using the "Modified By" Cell might help, but it doesn't work that way for comments. Whenever a comment is updated the "Modified By" changes to discussion.system@smartsheet.com instead of the email of the user how made the comment.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Create a Column with a dropdown list of every one you want to trigger the workflow off of. When ever it it changes from empty to full you can trigger the workflow to send the update request.
