How do we have sheets without an Owner in our system?
I ran the Sheets Report as part of our ongoing continuous monitoring of access to our company data in Smartsheet (as we do allow outside collaborations). Today I see that there is a sheet shared to an outside email address, (Editor) which is fine, but there is no internal user listed as an Owner or Admin. I thought that all sheets had to have an Owner? What is best practice here; how can I, as an Admin, monitor this sheet?

Hi @Pauline J
Is it possible that the original owner of the sheet has since been removed from your plan, and their sharing permissions removed? This would keep the sheet/item with your organization, but remove them from being shared to it.
In this case, you'll want to have someone in your organization with Plan Asset Admin permissions request access to the sheet. Here's more information:

Thank you for your response. This employee did leave the company, but prior to that, we transferred ownership of his sheets to another person. I re-ran the access report just now — and he is magically gone. 😉 Perhaps there was some lag time between the transfer and all of his data being removed …. weird. Thanks again!
