I currently use this feature (send update request) in our ticketing system that we use as a means of communicating with my vendors ticketing system. Once my vendor uses the link they are unable to provide any other real time updates due to the link being a one time use only. It would be great if we can choose for the link to expire or not.
WE also have this need. I may be a person that is assigned 14 tasks in a given day, but other work needs to start as soon as I complete a task, so I don't want to wait until all tasks are complete before clicking the link. Since the link expires after some of the tasks have been updated, there is no way to easily solicit additional updates apart from spamming task owners with email (one per task)
Same ask. Can we have update links that don't expire after 1-time usage
My idea would be to use a form input to update a sheet; a user could enjoy a more user-friendly way to provide certain sheet updates using a dedicated link, similar to how a form allows for new entries. Update Requests do exist but it needs to be emailed vs provided via a link as I am suggesting.

I wanted to do the same kind of thing to reduce confusion, improve uptake of the new process and minimize response time. Do accomplish this, I created dynamic views designed for collecting specific user input, and then embedded the DV on a dashboard. I used automated workflows to trigger sending a request for updated info to a specified contact. The notification included a link to the dashboard containing the embedded dynamic view, which was configured to display only info relevant to the viewer. The user experience was almost the same as a form; and it worked quite well! I would highly recommend this option if you have access to Dynamic View,
