Project End Date Integration

Projects in Resource Management have a start date and an end date. They seem to have to be added in manually.
I am integrating my Smartsheet project plans via API into Resource Management. Sometimes those projects slip. The result is that I then need to go into Resource Management and change the end date on the project, otherwise the reports in Resource Management are incorrect.
Am I missing something?

Use a formula or cell link to bring the updated end date from the helper column into your Resource Management sheet.

How do you do that? The only thing I see in Resource Manager is a date field.
