Sharing reports with free users --- updated question

I had asked this question previously and thank @Shanky Paul for answering! I'm still trying to figure out if I give them access to the source sheet, will they be able to see the source sheet and if so, then why would I create a report? There is a column in the source sheet I don't want to share. Thank you!

Hi - I have created a report and shared it with an external free user, however, he is unable to see anything on the report. I also tried publishing the report and placing it as a widget in a dashboard with no luck. Is there anyone that has done this and can let me know how to provide them the info? I also wanted them to be able to write comments in one columm. Thank you in advance!

Unfortunately you have stumbled on one of the drawbacks to a report. It sounds to me like you have a good use case for the add-on Dynamic View. Do you have access to this?

Unfortunately that means you would have to practice "security through obscurity". Basically giving them access but then keeping the source in a place that they are very unlikely to look.
