Single day project duration

Can't see a way to do this yet...

 

I want to create a project that lasts 24 hours. Individual tasks and to-dos need to be visible on the Gantt sheet in 5 minute blocks. At present I can't seem to zoom in any finer than one complete day.

 

Is there a built in functionality here that can accomplish this?

You are not the first person to request duration in hours and minutes and you are in luck!  Our product team has been hard at work on an update to Smartsheet that accomplishes what you are looking for.  You can check out our Product Roadmap page (http://www.smartsheet.com/product-roadmap) which lists this as our top feature to be released (it's almost done) along with Critical Path.  You can always check that page for updates and notes on previous releases.

Pete - you can also follow this thread which is monitored by our product managers and will be updated when more information is available about this upcoming feature.  We are expecting to have this feature out in May/June.

I see that "duration" will soon be available in days, hours, minutes,  Can anyone give me an expected release date?  Unfortunately, I need to have this in place before the end of day 22 May, so may have to find an alternative.  If I plug in .125 days, is that taken as part of an 8-hour workday? or a 24 hour day?

Mike - Here is a response Robin - the Product Manager in charge of this feature - said in another thread regarding a release date: “We are finishing up core development and getting deep into the testing cycle for hour and minute durations on projects. This change will result in a data migration so we are spending quite a bit more time testing migration scenarios that normally wouldn't be required. We are still a few weeks away, currently shooting for mid-June.”
