Please bring back the "Open In Browse" feature in the workspace panel kebab menu. Only make "delete workspace" available to workspace owner.
Smartsheet says that in the workspace panel, you can: create new items, rename items or workspace, favorite or remove items, share your workspace, and open in browse (see link).
In the September 26th update, they made backups accessible through the workspace panel (see other link). In this update they also removed the ability to open in browse and added a big red delete workspace option that is visible to the owner and all admin.
The inability to navigate back to the browse view of a workspace is troublesome for those of us with hundreds of workspaces, as using the search feature takes us straight back into the workspace panel view rather than the browse view. This means we have to remember the name of our workspace and go find it in the list of all the workspaces if we need to do something as simple as moving a smartsheet to a folder.
The big red delete workspace should only be visible to the workspace owner. Luckily I tested and although licensed and unlicensed admin can see it, it brings up a "something went wrong" error and does not delete. Only owners can delete their workspaces. It would be much simpler to only make it visible to the owners rather than making it seem like admin can delete and it's just not working right now. I also felt it was better being accessed via the workspace browse view when you had to right click the workspace to delete it.
Thank you!
Open in browse button is gone
open in browse button must return
bring it back pleaseeee!
Hi @Acacia and @Michael Aguilera
This has now been resolved! You should see the "Open in Browse" feature from the three dot menu in the Workspace Panel.
Cheers,
Genevieve

@Genevieve P. hip hip hooray!
@Genevieve P. has the "open in browse" behavior changed? I recall that previously it would take me to the parent folder of the sheet that I was on. Now, I'm taken to the top-level folder, which often times, requires me to click down into the folder I was working in. It's a few more clicks to get to the same place.
Hi @Francisco
"Open in Browse" will open the top-level Workspace regardless of what sheet or folder you were working in, yes. Please create a new Idea if you would like to submit your feedback to the product team based on this experience! 🙂
