What are some fun and unique ways you use Smartsheet?
I’d love to hear the creative ways the Smartsheet community is using Smartsheet for fun or unique ways, whether at work or in your personal life! Have a story to share? Drop it in the thread!
One of the best parts of hosting user groups is getting to meet amazing customers and hear their stories. Here’s one of my favourite examples of a customer using Smartsheet in a fun way at work.
🧐 Mystery Chip Fridays: How Smartsheet Powers a Fun End-of-Week Tradition 🧐
Melanie Hand, Data and Reporting Manager at End Food Waste Australia, shared a fun and unique way her team in Adelaide uses Smartsheet to bring some end-of-week joy to the office. Every Friday at 4 p.m., the team wraps up the week with a social break, including a "mystery chip" tasting. Each week, a different chip flavour is introduced, and everyone gets to guess and rate the flavour.
To streamline the process, they use a Smartsheet form accessed via a QR code. Colleagues, like Sarah and Kaz, simply scan the code, which leads them to a form where they enter their rating for the chip. This setup is tied to a Smartsheet dashboard that tracks their snack favourites, along with a record of the 85 unique mystery chips they’ve tried over the years. The dashboard also displays the team’s top three favourite chips and bottom three of the year based on ratings.
This lighthearted tradition has become a well-loved part of their week, showcasing Smartsheet’s functionality to enhance team connection and capture memorable moments.
You can check out a live presentation of the “Mystery Chip” activity using Smartsheet in the Smartsheet Virtual User Group recording, starting at the 21-minute mark, here 👉

I use Smartsheet to record milestones, memorable moments, and interactions with our 4-year-old son, who was recently diagnosed with Level 3 Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Throughout the day, I log words or phrases he says using a form with category drop-down selections. The entries are automatically organised and displayed on a dashboard, making it easy to track his progress ❤️
This data becomes incredibly helpful in our bi-weekly speech therapy sessions and when meeting with his doctors. It gives our speech therapist a week-by-week picture of his progress, allowing her to tailor each session without needing a full rundown from us, so we can dive right into the lesson.

Hi @Jay Mondares! I use Smartsheet to make games for my personal use and for my grandkids. I make mostly word games with some automation to the dashboard. The kids think I’m a digital magician…Gen Alpha is not easily amused or impressed. 😂
Best Regards,
Yvonne Smythe
