New Recurring Backup Process is Confusing

As a SmartSheet user, I'd like the option of keeping the one-click download for recurring backups. The update requires me to go through each workspace, click through menus, and download myself. As a user, this feels like worse functionality (at least far less, or even not-automated.) It used to be one-click.

The term 'backups' are somewhat misleading since critical data-relation functionality is lost when downloading individual xls or csv files. But at least the process was simple to do.

This is an absolute nightmare for me. My SOP leads me to backing up several sheets at a time, and then moving the sheets to a different archival workspace. Not having that one-click download option in my email makes this process much more time consuming and way less efficient. If these sounding boards have any power, PLEASE revert to the formal back up process. Rebecca is correct—it's confusing, more complicated, and much less user friendly.

Agree - old process one click to download from the email. New process is 5 clicks (and you have to concentrate on where to click rather than "click and go".

When backing up multiple workspaces, this has become very admin heavy.

There must be a better way.

For example a retention policy meaning 12m worth of backups are held, I might choose to go in monthly and download several at once, or leave it knowing they are all available online.

Or ability to link to a SharePoint or FTP to automate the pulling of the backups to secure storage.

Also agree that a full backup should be an option, not just the data that sits in the sheets. There's a lot of hours worth of "code", reports, dashboards making up our Smartsheet workspaces with no means of backup.
