How to add smartsheet form to Iphone/android homepage?

Good afternoon all,

I am trying to figure out how to add a form to iphone and android homepage to show up as an app for easy access. The goal is to have non-smartsheet users(our field crews) be able to have the form on there phone homepages to be able to easily access it without having the smartsheet app.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

    Hi @Joe Phelps,

You’ll first need to make sure that your form settings don’t require users to log in to Smartsheet (check out this help article for more information).Β

Once you’ve done that, you can then send the form link to non-Smartsheet users (eg via email) for them to then add the link to their mobile phone home screens. I tested and found that because I have the Smartsheet app on my mobile and was already logged in, clicking the form link on my device automatically opens the app. However, for users that don’t use Smartsheet and therefore don’t have the app, the link will open in their mobile browser. They can then click the menu in their browser and select Add to Home Screen to create a shortcut to the form on their mobile phone home page.

I’ve included links for how to create shortcuts for websites in Chrome for Android and iOS below (if the users have different web browsers on their mobiles, they’ll need to look up how to create shortcuts for those browsers):

    Hope that helps!Β

I have done this multiple times. The end user just needs the form link set to their home screen. With Apple devices the user just selects the icon with the box and arrow and selects send to home screen. This will add the form to the users home screen as if it's an app. Not sure on Android, but I know similarly easy.

If these are company managed devices, your IT team might also be able to mass deploy this for you.

@Lindsay AR How do you access the page where you can select the icon box?

Open up the browser on the Apple device and you will see it at the bottom of the screen. *The location of this icon could change depending on iOS version.

When I try to open the link to the form on my phone it doesn't allow me to open it without signing into smartsheet but I need non-smartsheet users to be able to use the form? Also on the smartsheet app I'm not seeing where to go to add to home screen?

    Thank you!
