Automate Alert for When User Is Deactivated

Is there an easy way (maybe Bridge or API) to alert me when any user is deactivated?

Hello @Ide AirTrunk if you are a systems admin for your organization's Smartsheet account, you would get notified by an alert when a user requests for a license or when they're required to be deactivated. I remember this from my previous company.
Hope this helps:)
Thanks,

Unfortunately the licence management sits outside of my remit and SS, so I don't get notified - hence why I want to pull that from the report automatically

Hi @Ide AirTrunk!
You can use Event Reporting to monitor when a user is deactivated. This feature provides access to detailed logs of actions across your organization for the past six months. You can find more information here:
Event Reporting: Monitor how your organization uses data.Important Note: To use this capability, you must be a System Admin. If you’re not a System Admin, you may need to ask to become one to set up Event Reporting.
I hope this helps!

I can see a report of all users who are deactivated because I am a System Admin, but what I am looking to setup is an alert that tells me when a user has been deactivated.. is this possible? It seems the event reporting is just an API call for the same functionality report I can pull in Admin Centre - it won't actually alert me - or am I mistaken?
Appreciate all help @Isaac A.

Hi @Ide AirTrunk!
You're correct. Event Reporting provides visibility into deactivated users but does not generate an automatic alert. There isn't a direct way in Smartsheet to accomplish this today, but this is a great idea! I encourage you to submit it as an Idea post in the Smartsheet Product Feedback & Ideas topic.
As a potential workaround, you might be able to achieve this using the Smartsheet API. My first thought is that you could leverage the API call from Event Reporting to pull deactivation events, push that data into a sheet, and then set up an automation workflow to notify you when a user is deactivated. I haven’t personally developed something like this, but it could be an option to explore.
I hope this helps!
