ENGAGE Feature Announcements: New Mobile Experience, Notification Center, Automated Actions

Announced at ENGAGE this morning, we've got new features that you can use today! (Some features are only available on certain plans. Check out the linked help center articles below for more information.)  

Notification Center—Receive alerts directly within Smartsheet.

Alerts and Actions—Make collaboration automatic with conditional alerts, approval requests, and update requests.

New Mobile Experience—Modern look and feel, as well as improved navigation.

  • I created a rule for an approval request (assigned to myself), but have not received the notification.

    It has been an hour already.

  • Hi Dan,

    Make sure that you're set up to receive your own notifications/approval requests under Account > Personal Settings > Notifications.

    If you are and you're still not receiving the approval request, please contact our Support team to troubleshoot further.

  • Sorry, my bad :-)

    My rule formula was wrong.  The change that fixed it was from:

    When % Complete changes to 100%

    to:

    When % Complete changes to 1

    It would be good if Smartsheet can validate the rule on the acceptable data types, to give users a clue on misbehaving rules.

  • Waiting for more videos on how to use this feature.  Looks awesome, but hard to be sold on the limited info.

  • Good morning Shaine, 2 quick issues we are having with the automated process.

    1) Using 'manual update request', once the update is completed both sender/creator and receiver receive a confirmation email from SS. However, via the automated process, only the receiver receives the confirmation. Is there anyway to bring this "confirmation to sender" email into the automated process? 

    2) I love the 'approval request', but I am forced to use 'update request'  instead simply because of a minor detail. When using Approval request it doesn't allow the receive to change any columns, only a yes or no vote. Is there any way to unlock this? in other words, so as part of the approval update the receiver can provide additional data that we need to consider it officially approved?
