Multiselect Dashboard Widget HELP!

Hello! I am attempting to create a dashboard widget that shows me how much budget we are spending in each segment, and in what category. The source sheet contains these columns…

"Budget" - text/number column

"Category" - dropdown list (restricted to list values only)

"Segment" - dropdown list (allows multiple values per cell)

I was successfully able to follow a youtube video tutorial to create a dashboard chart that pulls my data in from a metrics sheet (see screenshot attached). BUT what I'm missing is the budget totals per Segment. How do I incorporate the budget totals into my widget? Really appreciate any insight!! Thanks.

Do you mean displaying the numbers in the chart? If so, go into the widget settings and look for the section for the "Series". That section should have an option to show the value label.

Hey Paul, I do want numbers displayed there, but not the totals of x & y (how it's currently set up). I want my budget to appear there instead (essentially telling me how much im spending in each segment (y) and on what tactic (x). I just dont know how to write the formula in my metrics sheet to pull in budgets.

I'm not sure I follow.

The setting I mentioned above would tell you how much you are spending in each segment for each tactic. It doesn't show totals of segments and tactics combined.

Are you able to mock up an example of what you are looking for?

When I click "always show value labels" it shows me the totals from my metrics sheet (see attached).

I'm assuming the change I need to make will lie within my metrics sheet - one which references the "budget" column from my source. I just dont know how to do that.

What exactly is it that you are wanting to show instead? Amounts instead of counts?

Yes, This column from my data source:

In that case, you would use a SUMIFS instead of a COUNTIFS (don't forget to add in the "range to sum" at the beginning).
