Cheery picking data from a sales sheet for customer to view

Hello, 

We maintain orders for customers in a sales sheet, the columns look something like this;

Order Number 

Customer name   

Description   

Manufacturer   

Order Status

Ship Date   

Delivery Date

Sales Value 

This is our master sheet.

So to update our customers we have to look at the sheet and email them important information from it. 

Is there a way to create a copy but filtered view of this sheet that can be shared with the customer.

Id like to create a read only sheet based off the master sheet and then filter that sheet and share it with customer.  Filter would be show Customer A orders which are shipped and only these columns;

Order Number 

Customer name   

Description   

Order Status

Delivery Date

 

I have been looking into cell linking but it seems you need to manually select each cell or range of cells as opposed to an entire column that you could then put a filter on on the sheet you are sharing with the customer.

 

Be great to be able to copy an existing sheet so that is is ready only. From there filters could be added to the ready only sheet and that be shared with the customer. 

Any ideas on this?

Hi Deirdre,

There are a few different ways to accomplish this.

Depending on what information you wan't to share and when it could maybe work with an automated workflow thru Alerts & Actions or maybe with an report that gets sent out to the customer?

Would that work for you scenario?
