Auto-assign sequenced number to new project(s) sheet

Is there a way to automatically assign a uniquely sequenced ID# to each newly created project sheet? 

We'd like to do this for/across a group of users that collaborates on short-termed projects (3-6 mos).  Basically have the application assign a unique and automatically sequenced ID# for each new project.

Hello Carole,

There currently isn't a way to auto-assign an ID on the sheet level, but you can do this on the row level with an auto-number system column. You might consider having a sheet that has all of your projects as single rows or line items. The auto-number column will generate a unique ID, then you can copy and paste that into your individual project sheets as needed.
