Can I create a report, share it and restrict the user from seeing the SmartSheet?

Do you intend to have the viewer edit the report at all?

I envision a report, limited by filters, where a separate entity could view pertinent information but only have the ability to update a specific field, such as the status of an order.

Reports are a great feature of Smartsheets but at this point, if you want the user to be able to update data from your Smartsheet, they also have to have editing access on the main sheet. You could send out row updates to your users, even schedule them, and send them just the row that you want them to update.

If your sending a report to a client but have information such as budget allocations in the smartsheet - surely there is a way that you can restrict the 'viewer' of the report from seeing this information? Is this possible as it's the one big limiting factor at present
