It seems like others have inquired about VLOOKUP. I'm sure this is in the works as part of "enhancement request". Is there a timeline when this will be released?
Tony,
From my understanding, experience, Data Mesh is a Smartsheet add-on (paid) that they are working on. I had a customer that used it and results were mixed.
Craig
Thanks for that Craig.
Tony
Hi there
Yes, that's right - it's a premium add on to your entire organisation's licence. So you can't get it added on to just one profile user's licence like you do with Sights, for example. Would be keen to hear about anyone's experience with using it?
Cheers,
Sandi
Hi Tony,
I believe that DataMesh is a premium add-on to Smartsheet. I'm not sure if our Sales team provides trials of DataMesh, but you're welcome to contact them to find out more information on the add-on: https://www.smartsheet.com/contact
"Premium Add-Ons" are simply that .... premium .... expensive, beyond the reach of smaller organisations who would really, and I mean REALLY, benefit from cross table look up functionality.
It's a glaring ommission and it's the one thing that would simply make our Smartsheet installation complete.
Shame we haven't moved on really.
For those looking for cross-sheet VLOOKUP, another option could be through Smartsheet's Power BI integration (which is free, along with Power BI). Depending on your needs, you can setup multiple sheet inputs from SS into Power BI, then do your cross sheet lookups and pivottables in Power BI.
Just a suggestion as I'm finding Power BI to be a useful tool to fill in some of the feature gaps in S/S.
Gordon,
I am a Power BI fan, and have found alot of uses for it. It does work great with Smartsheet.

Any updates on a lookup formula that works between sheets? This would be Extremely helpful!
Hi Dan,
Formulas currently can't reference cells in other sheets and we don't have a timeframe for when this feature will be added in the application.
I've got your vote down for this feature to increase awareness of demand for our Product team!
Please add my vote for VLOOKUP
HI Kennedy,
Is there any update on a timeline to have the Vlookup Function work across multiple sheets?
Thanks
Chris Nguyen
Hi Chris,
We're looking to ship this in Q3 of 2017. We'll have a better sense of the exact timeline as we get closer to the ship date. Thanks for checking!
Daniel
Q3 2017? Looking forward to it!
Great! The usual caveats apply, e.g., ship dates can move forward or back as we continually assess what features will make the most impact for our customers.
But we know this is super important and are working on it. Thanks everyone for your input!
Awesome!!!
