Not possible to color Gantt bars by what parent task they are under?
I'm setting up a project with big task parents for the major parts of the project with many sub-tasks. Is it not possible to use a conditional formatting rule to make all the tasks under a particular parent a specific color?? This seems like a very basic feature but I can't figure out a way to do it.

There is not a straight forward way, but you could do it with conditional formatting.
Add an additional column with the same (number)code for the main tasks and its children. Then color the bars under conditional formatting according to the (number) code you have added. This should do the trick.
I hope this is clear.

Thanks Victor. That's exactly what I did. Hopefully they will add this as a feature instead of having to do a kludgy workaround.
