Create a Chart without using numeric data

Good day,

May I ask if there is any way to create a Chart in Smartsheet without using a numeric data? I wanted to create a chart using names/phases as reference but I received an Invalid Data error message. It says, "To create a chart you must use numeric data".

Hi Riza,

At this time, charts need numeric data that is aggregated (and calculated with formulas) in a sheet. Details on using the charts widget can be found in the help center: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/2476691-compare-live-data-with-a-chart

When you have a moment, please also submit a Product Enhancement Request using the form under Quick links on the right of the community site and let our Product team know that you'd like to be able to use different data in your charts (or have your chart calculate this data for you).

I am running into this issue as well. It is incredibly aggravating. Please fix this issue, I should be able to plot a pie chart of open or completed tasks per USER. That's simple and straight forward, I shouldn't have to funnel all my reports through excel.
