HI,
I would like to know please what will be the best way to delete rows which their time stamp i more than 24 hours. i can't find a delete function under the conditionl function.
Hi, we setup a App to do this using the API. How many sheets and rows approx are you looking at??
Mick
This is not a deleting solution, but it may help you. If you use a Report to look at the Sheet, you can setup the filters to stop displaying data greater than one day.
A sheet filter would work the same way without the hassle of building a report.
We are using one sheet and aprox 20 new rows everyday. shortly we will have 100 rows daily. looking for a solution to delte rows greater than 24 hours.
What's the app called?
Thank you , but i am looking for a solution for the smartsheet not for the report.
What app you guys a re using for the deletion fo rows ?
Hi, Have you found the solution for the above? Thanks
Is there a functionality similar to the Move Rows or Copy Rows automation to delete rows? Similar to @Tal Segal's initial request, I'm looking at deleting row records that are x months old and would like to handle that in an automated fashion. Today's process uses the Move Row automation to move completed records to an archive sheet every night, but now the archive sheet is a few thousand records deep, so we'd like the option to automatically discard records once they've meet our defined retention period.
Any thoughts?
Hi @Jake Gustafson
There currently isn't a Delete Row workflow, you would need to Move the row from the sheet as you're already doing, then manually delete rows from that archive sheet to create space.
An alternative would be to use the Smartsheet API to delete rows.
Cheers,
Genevieve
Hi,
@Genevieve P. , I found a neat way to auto-delete through data shuttle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have an archive sheet that has a heavy volume of stuff that keeps accumulating that we don't need -
I set up an data shuttle where the source is an empty excel attachment and targets this archive sheet and is set to "Replace all target sheet rows with the data from the input file"
I set this to run every day and it really deletes all the rows daily!!!
@Jake Gustafson @Genevieve P.- in your case you can set up another real_archive sheet and when the row number on your first archive sheet reaches a certain limit you can auto-move them to the real_archive sheet which has the data shuttle set up and auto-deletes!
@Automations 1 , I started using this for some other archive sheets
Hi @ygoldgrab
It's great to hear from you; thanks so much for sharing your solution!
I am currently setting up an automation for people to get notified through their email, when they are prompted. But is there a way that they can reply in the email of a comment that will then go to the specific sheet. This way they do not have access to the sheet, but can just comment through email with updates?
Is there a way to revert to the old dashboard look and feel. The new dashboards do not look good at all. There is no way of knowing if there are additional items in the widgets until you scroll over one to learn there is more to it since the vertical bar doesn't show. We have hundreds of dashboards and they will all need…
When i try to send or print the timeline view instead of showing the progression bars like they do on the screen it only send the data entered and not a graph type view to print. Is there a way to do this. I am using a mac platform if that helps.
