Dropdown Assigning

I have a program that imports data from an excel sheet. The data contains names of a project manager and a project ID. I have a dropdown list containing all the PMs and their emails, and what I was wondering was when I populate the PM column with the PMs name, is there any way to attach the corresponding email of the PM so that they may receive a notification of the project being added. Currently when I run the program, it simply adds the PMs name to the cell, but does not assign it the email.

Have you tried using a Contact type column? It works very similar to giving you a list of matches as you type in a name.

  • Oh sorry, I already am using the contact list. In my case the name gets filled out, but not the corresponding email. As you can see from the screenshots, Sam is added to the contact list, but when the cell is populated with his full name, it does not add his email and therefore I cannot send him a notification.

When creating a notification, you can change who it is sent to to automatically send to whoever is in your contact column. You will then have the option to determine which column to use.
