Match or VLookup?
I cannot figure out how to cross reference two excel documents for changes made from one day to the next. Long story short, our EDI process is not working at this time. Until it is up & running, our csr is required to manually review each page for changes from the previous day. It is so time consuming but until EDI is up & running, this is the process.
Also, is it best to use VLookup or Match to find the differences between the documents? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!

Hello—
It appears that you've posted this to the wrong forum. This is the Smartsheet community, where people help one another with solutions that involve the Smartsheet application.
If you're looking for assistance with an excel process, I'd recommend posting your question on an Excel forum. Here's one of Microsoft's forums for Excel: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Excel/ct-p/Excel_Cat
Otherwise, if your process also involves Smartsheet, please reply and clarify how Smartsheet fits into the picture and we can assist.

Hi Shaine,
My apologies, it seems I didn't explain properly. I want to use Smartsheet as an alternative to manually reviewing purchase orders & forecasts, for changes or additions made from the previous day. It's extremely time consuming for our csr. I would think I could load them to smartsheet to do the comparisons.
Im not sure how to set this up. Would I use Vlookup, or is this something Datamesh would be used for? Any ideas or suggestions, help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hi Lisa,
Would it work for you to move the process entirely to Smartsheet or you have to use the Excel files? How large are the files (rows, columns, cells). Can you share one file or some screenshots?
I hope this helps you!
Best,

No worries, I think I understand you now.
VLOOKUP and Datamesh will both work in Smartsheet. My recommendation is to explore using VLOOKUP or a combination of the MATCH and INDEX functions. Typically, you can create those formulas in your sheet and get your expected result without having to invest in Datamesh. (Datamesh is a paid premium add on.)
What CSR are you using? We might have an integration that can sync the data between your CSR and Smartsheet: https://www.smartsheet.com/partners
