Anonymise form submission
Hi,
I have a form which fills a sheet with an "Anonymise" checkbox column and a "Submitter" text box column. (staff feedback form)
I'm trying to give form submitters the option to anonymise their submissions. At the moment, an individual has their own link which will auto-populate the submitter on the form but want to be able to change that value to blank if the anonymise checkbox is selected.
I don't want to make this a dropdown (as then a submitter could respond under another person's name).
Can I use a formula to make the Submitter field become blank at the time of submission if the 'anonymise' checkbox has been checked?
Or is there a better way to do this?
Thank you,

Hi,
You could use a copy of the form that doesn't require the submitter to be logged in.
Would that work for you?
I hope this helps you!

Unfortunately EXACTLY what you want isn't possible. Andree's suggestion is a good one. The only other thing I can think of is to use conditional formatting to change the font and background of the name column to white if the box is checked. The name will still be there, but it will be "hidden".

Hi,
update in case anyone else is looking for a solution to the same problem
I have given each individual a link (actually QR code and NFC on a card customised for each individual) which has the form URL encoded onto it with ?Submitter=Firstname%20LastName on the end
The Submitter column is a dropdown with only one option - Anonymous
This way when they navigate to the page via the QR / NFC they will get the dropdown with two options - their name and anonymous
Obviously not very hard to spoof another name into this but given the target group I am involved with that's not likely to be a problem
Thanks for your input!

Happy to help!
Nice workaround.
