Making a Web Form

Is there a way to create a web form and then track it?

We have purchase/work orders and would like to create those PO's and then track them. What would be the best way to accomplish that?

Thanks

Dan

    Dan,

What do you mean by "track"?

The webform that is created within a sheet will send all the responses to the sheet.

Then you can create a report to pull the respones from the sheet.

    Is that what you mean?

  • Hey Tim,

Thanks for replying so quickly. I found out the help section on web forms and have created one that seems to do what we want. However I would like to make a request for future versions, have a web form designer that allows us to create a form that matches our current hardcopy po. The reason why i ask is that currently for the webform, we have 5 fields per line (a total of 10 lines) and the spreadsheet doesnt print the way we want it to (its just rows and columns). We need to format it and there is no way to do that.

    thanks

    Daniel,

Glad the help section got you going. On formatting the webform, that functionality has been requested on this community board in the past. Not sure how much could be done to match your PO, but clearly it there was more formatting capability, it would be helpful.

    thanks,

  • Hey Tim

Is there a charge for web forms?

Is there a limit on how many web forms we can create?

    Thanks again

    Hi Daniel,

It sounds like you want to print your form results in "form view" rather than grid view, correct? This is on our enhancement request list and I will add your vote for it!

You can use Smartsheet Merge to take data from new rows (form entries) and add it to a Google Doc. Here is a thread about it:  https://community.smartsheet.com/discussion/printing-web-forms

There is not an additional charge for web forms (you just need to be on a paid plan) and there is not a limit to the number of forms you can create.
