Create an Entry on a worksheet based on the value of another worksheet

Problem Statement:  We have one sheet (we will call it, Sheet A) which records the joiners/leavers for our company.  In order to track whether the leaver employee returns his/her equipment, I wanted to create an entry with data from Sheet A on another sheet (Sheet B) based on two sets of criteria from Sheet A, Type (leaver) and Job Title.  Sheet B will be used to track if/when we receive the equipment back.  Is this possible?   I looked at Linked Cells, but that doesn't seem to be a good fit.

Thanks for any ideas/guidance you may have SmartSheet experts!

Since Smartsheet can't directly reference cells in another sheet within a formula the only way to do it is with links. Link the info you want to track into the tracking sheet and then you can reference it all you want.

  • You can use Zapier to copy the contents of a row to another sheet (or create a new sheet) when conditions are met.

  • This would be a very valuable feature, as it's been almost a year; has this functionality been considered in the latest releases?  Dislike being forced to buy add-ons (like Zapier).

Today's work around, link cells of the first 100 rows in Sheet A to a new Sheet B.  In row 100 type (End of Sheet - check Sheet B formulas) - as a reminder when you get to that row.
