Email Notification Collation

Hi SS Community 

I am triggering some automation within another tool when receiving an email from smartsheet notifications. The problem being sometimes smartsheet collates emails when there are a few to send and sometimes it doesn't. Is there a way to control this behaviour as it makes it harder to cater for both outcomes programmatically?

With my alert notification I have "right away" set as the timeframe whereas I thought only send hourly, daily or weekly would invoke collation.

Thanks for your post! It sounds like you'd like to receive a separate email for every row that is updated. There isn't a specific setting for this, but it may be achievable through the use of Placeholders in the custom message set in the alerts rule editor. Information about Placeholders can be found here: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/2477796

Placeholders will take text from one of the columns in your sheet and amend it to the email subject or body. If you use the Primary Column or another Unique Identifier column for this, separate emails will be generated because each row will require the placeholder to enter different text in the custom message. With placeholders, you'll only receive multiple rows in a single email if all of the rows have the same value in the column used for placeholder text.
