I have a sheet shared with other users, but since the sheet has check Boxes to for approval I want to block other users from editing that column (check box) but still be able to view it.
If the other users only need to view the sheet but not make changes - under the 'share' box, you can change their status to "Viewer"
You can also lock columns from editing by right clicking on the column title.

I run into this need frequently. If you lock the column and leave others unlocked, anyone with edit rights can edit the unlocked but be prevented from editing the locked ones. Admin or above can edit all. I use this type of hierarchy frequently as I have mixed audiences on certain sheets with specific rights depending on use.

I have shared sheets and dashboards with people outside of my organization, and one has a paid license. Would I be able to grant admin access to this licensed user to their sheet? Or would the ownership of the space by one organization limit the admin accessibility of someone from outside?
