editing office 365 documents.

I have about the integration of smartsheet and outlook office365.  I was enthousiastic when i read about it.

I want to open and edit a office365 document from a office365 folder from within smartsheet and automatically sync i with the same folder. So thant multiple people can work on that document in the way they prefer.  But  as I understand i still have to download the document first, then edit it, then save it and subsequently upload it again. This is no integration to me. Or am i missing a point here?

regards,

Dirk

  • Hi Dirk,

OneDrive attachments is something we're actively working on and I think that will meet your needs. Similar to how you can attach documents from Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, etc. you'll be able to use OneDrive. By "opening" the attachment (clicking on it) you will be taken to OneDrive's in-browser experience that includes an editing experience so long as you have permission to edit the doc.

As a workaround in the mean time, you can get a sharable link for a document in OneDrive and "attach" the link to the document in Smartsheet. This is not as seamless as when we have OneDrive integration, but it should be better than downloading the doc, editing and uploading.
