Dashboard Gantt for Extended Period Task Prevents Display of Current Dates

For a leadership dashboard, we have a report with a list of current projects. We want to display the Gantt chart on a dashboard. One of the projects began on 8/4/2015. The Gantt timeline begins in August 2015 and can scroll to the week of March 17, 2019. Given that it is May 23, 2019, this is a no-go. Workaround ideas? My report is set to show months and weeks on the timeline. (The report is also set to open to today's date which does not impact the dashboard view.)

The only thing I can think of is to not show the true start date of the project. This doesn't seem like a good solution.

I changed the timeline settings in the report to display quarters and months. That worked.
