Alert based on Harvy ball or "last changed date" system column?

I have a harvy ball that shows the progress to completion on a task.

Is there a way to send a conditional alert to someone on the task line when the harvy ball gets to a 1/4 or 1/2 full?  or even when it changes value (other than any change)

Also is there a way to get a tickle when a sheet is not complete and has not been addressed (updated) for two weeks?  I have a "last changed date" system column but can't access it in the alert choices.

The Alerts use Contact Lists and Date Columns only.

Re the second part of your query, add another column that calculates the date from the system Column you are using using the Function =Dateonly([Modified].  You will then be able to use this in the alerts.

    Lou,

Conditional Formatting is possibly the way to draw peoples attention to a change you specifi with the harvy balls.  Make it stand out so people look at it.

You could also create reports that show tasks that are "1/4 done" and "1/2 done" and "3/4 done" and "Not started"  and "complete"

Its a lot of reports but an easy way to see wht tasks are at what stage.

  • You can send a conditional notification if your harvey ball is a certain status.

Create a checkbox column with a formula that will check the box if the harvey ball is 1/2 full then set a notification for that column to send an email if it changes (box checks).

Another option is to insert a date column with a formula that will show tomorrows date if the harvey ball is 1/2 full then set a reminder for that column.
