Is there a way to set sheet card view as default for all users of a sheet?

I have a sheet that is best in card view. Is there a way to set this as a default view for all users of the sheet or does everyone have to set it themselves?

Hi Angie,

Yes, there is! When you share the sheet, there is an option to select the default view.

Click on the Collaborators menu in the bottom and select the Default View:

Hi Andree,

A little bit of a different spin here. I have my source sheet (IT Steering Committee Action Items) published as "Edit by Anyone" and when I click "Get Link" I selected the default view of "Card". I can then use that embed code in a Web Content Widget on my dashboard (IT Steering Committee WB) this way people can see the action item source sheet in the overall dashboard (which we utilize as a virtual whiteboard with other pertinent project information).

In the Widget I switch the View by to "Assigned to" before saving but it doesn't stick after I click Done and Save and refresh the dashboard. Right now it always opens up to "View by Health".

When you select the sheet and set the card view and the view by settings the URL changes by adding parameters after a ? character, such as ?view=card&cardLevel=0&cardViewByColumnId=1064043516585860

So publish or embed the URL with all these settings and that should work.

Edit: It's possible, but not by changing the URL.

You have to select the Card View Lanes in the Share section and Default View.

Then in the Publish Settings in the Publish Section, you change it to Card as the Default View, and now the Published sheet will show as card view and with the Lanes that you've selected.

I realise this is an old conversation, but this doesn't appear to work for me. I've set the default view to Card in the Share form for the sheet, but users (and the MS Teams tab) always get Grid view on load. Is there somewhere else that I need to set this to make it the actual default view? Thanks :)
