Sending a row default layout

Hello,

It seems the default layout is set to vertical but we prefer the horizontal layout. Is there a way to change this setup once and keep it for all future communications?

Thanks,

Sounds like a feature request!  (-:

Unfortunately it is not possible to set horizontal vs verticle as a default with Send Row.

    Other thoughts:

If you do not want to share all columns, you could:

    1. Create a report that only displays the columns you want to share

    2. Do Send Row from the report.

Then you would not have to uncheck columns AND remember to change the view to horizontal.

  • Hi Josy-- I've added your vote to be able to set a default orientation in the Send Row form to our enhancement request list. Thanks for your input! Kris' suggestion is a good workaround in the meantime if you are frequently sending rows without including all columns in the sheet--thanks for sharing that idea, Kris!

  • I agree with Kris that sending the row is horrible trying to read whats in there, but if the row was sent out horizontal, one can scroll much easier.  One use we have for Smartsheet is Near Miss reporting.  Rather than have the rows be sent out tiny and needing to try and scroll left to right and resize larger, it would be easier if the webform type layout be sent out.  How do you get Smartsheet to send a report out real time?
