Google Sheets Merge Multiple Pages

Hi There,

When I am linking over my data to google sheets with the merge, it creates a separate page for each row. This would normally make sense and work fine, but for the setup we currently have in our sheet, one item takes up several rows, thus spreading out the one item across multiple sheets. Is there a solution to have this all be placed onto one sheet, or will the structure of our smartsheet need to change?

Hi Sam,

There is a workaround but if it will work depends on your specific need. How many fields in total do you have to collect on one sheet?

Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help.

Hi Andree,

I attached a screenshot of what it looks like and what I'd like to be pulled to a sheet. There is only one item per smartsheet, in this case it's 9533. And instead of having each of those rows be on separate pages, I want them to be all pulled onto one. Think this is possible?

Is this all column/fields that you want to include int the document?

Yepp those are all! maybe even fewer columns based on what we want to be shown.

Would you need to create one by one sheet or multiple at the same time?

Yep just one for one sheet.

The simplest method would be to create a new column for each row and then use a JOIN function to put them all together on row one in the sheet. Another method would be to collect everything on another sheet. In either method, we would need to build the template document in Google Doc, so it matches up against the column names as required.

Which way would you prefer?

Oh that sounds like it would work well, lets go with the JOIN option.
