You may want to take a look at this string of conversations.

I have the same question and issue. Considering it is over a year since that last discussion mentioned by Heidi and there was no answer on if this is a pipeline feature, can I ask again if this might be considered? It would make SmartSheet so awesome if we could multi-select off a contact list to assign multiple resources to a task and nomiate a percentage allocation.

Hi David-- At this point, the ability to add multiple people in a Contact List type column is not on our roadmap. It's not that we don't think it's a great idea, there are just other projects in development right now, like improvements to our Formula engine, changes to Filters, Search, and Notifications, and a better Mobile experience. It's possible that the changes and improvements we are making to these other features might start to address this issue, but I'm not able to confirm specifics at this point.

Thanks Kennedy,
Appreciate your honest update regarding this feature request. Thank you !

Smartsheet has fixed alot of issues we have had with sharepoint in project, however not being able to assign multiple resources is a huge problem. We use a report that consolidates all open tasks by current user, this is bascially each persons to do list. All the workarounds will not allow this report to work, which is essential.

Hi all,
Yes, assigning multiple people to a task is now available.
Please see the attached link/screenshot for more information.

I hope this helps you!

Hi all,
We're pleased to announce that you can now quickly & easily assign tasks to multiple people. To do so, check the new "Allow multiple contacts per cell" checkbox in any contact column. The cells in that column will then allow up to 20 people to be added.
You can still leave that option unchecked when you only want a single person to be assigned to a task at a time.
Adding multiple contacts to a cell is useful not only for assigning people, but also for other scenarios where you want to associate multiple stakeholders with a row. For example, you might want those people to receive notifications when the row changes, or you may want them to appear in reports and filters.
For some projects, you may want to add 2 contact columns: one for the primary owner, and another for additional team members.
We welcome you to try it out and let us know what you think.
