Published report views from Dashboards
I have published a Dashboard to non Smartsheet users, that contains a number of reports added as separate widgets. When I click on these widgets as a Smartsheet admin (and creator of the report) I get into each report.
I published each report also.
The source data of the reports is not published though.
When I give the dashboard to non Smartsheet users they can view the dashboard with no problem, but get an error saying that "The Item you requested cannot be found" when try click on a widget to view the report. Why is this?

Hi,
When you publish the reports, you'll have to add them to the dashboard thru the web content widget, and then it will work.
Hope that helps!
Have a fantastic week!

Thanks for the prompt response, is that the only way?
My problem is that there are multiple reports that could be many lines long, and by embedding them then the frame size makes the report unusable on the dashboard.
If I have published the report, and published the dashboard, why cannot Smartsheets recognise this and let the permissions flow?

I think I misunderstood.
When you add a report thru, the Report Widget, it will always show what the creator of that report sees. If you're using Current User, it will show it as the one who added it to the dashboard.

You could change what opens when they click on the dashboard to the published reports.
Would that work?

No, I still don't think thats the problem. I've uploaded some pictures as I hope that might help. In the first one you see my dashboard, a header - and then a series of reports that have been added using the Report widget. I have set the Dashboard to publish, and have set all the reports named to be publish as well.
When anyone uses the dashboard link they can view this dashboard, but when anyone but me clicks on the report to view they get the second picture I have uploaded.
Given that both the report and the dashboard are set as Publish - why cannot anyone click on the report and get the report output?
I guess its like a hierarchy of publising. I have confirmed that if I send the publish link of an individual report to a user then they can view this.
Does this help explain it a bit better?

Can you describe your issue in more detail?
Hope that helps!
