Formulas not showing in new rows

Hi,

Not sure if this is a new issue but formulas in sheets aren't showing in new rows if there is a parent row below it.

The first attachment shows how the sheet is setup and a number of columns have formulas in them.

If I add a row between Test 3 and the Applications Confirmed parent row, it won't pull the formulas down (regardless of how many rows I have above it) and just leaves them blank. They are locked columns so its an issue for end users as the fields don't populate

If I add a blank row (second attachment and the row is only locked so noone can remove it) and then add a row between Test 3 and the blank row, its pulls the formulas down.

Has anyone else experience this? I only noticed it started happening last week

Hi,

Have you tried to add some text to the Primary column on that row? It doesn't activate the formulas if there isn't any information.

Yes, it is being added as a child to the parent above.

I've had to add blank locked rows into my sheets above the next parent as this seems to fix the issue

Thanks. I'll share the sheet with you shortly.

If you add a new row below row 16 and put data in the primary column, its doesn't bring the formulas down (they are in the end part of the sheet). However if I add a row between 37 and the blank locked row 38, it brings the formulas down when data is entered in the primary column.

Its very strange as it always used to work

Hi, @GELBill

Fist make sure that the conditions below are met.

If the formula structure is the same above/below the Formula Autofill will add the formula(s) automatically.

Conditions That Trigger Formula Autofill

You’ll see formulas populate automatically when you type in a newly inserted or blank row that is:

Directly between two others that contain the same formula in adjacent cells.
At the topmost of the sheet if it’s above two rows that have the same formula in adjacent cells. (This includes rows inserted from a form.)
At the bottommost of the sheet if it’s below two rows that have the same formula in adjacent cells. (This includes rows inserted from a form.)
Above or below a single row that is between blank rows and has formulas.
