Card View using the "Contact List" field
If a Contact List is used, would like to be able to setup lanes in cardview using this field -- easy way to tell who is working on what.

Hi Andrew
I just started using the Card View. In Card View, click on the "Fields" link, which is situated on the top right hand corner. From the drop down menu, you can select "Assign To" and click the "OK" button.
Now the name of the resource will be displayed.
Hope this helps..

Hi Andrew,
The contacts list can't currently be used for the card view so because I wanted to see the same as you (and many others in the community), I set up another column, made it a drop down list. Then in that column I put the formula =[Assigned To]1. This will automatically put the same resource name in that new column. Then the new column can be used for card view giving you the view you are looking for. The thing to be aware of, is, if you change lanes the resource name only changes in the new column, not in the original resource column. You will need to go back and manually change it there. Hope this isn't too confusing.
Peace.

Hi Heidi,
I tried your suggestion but I end up with just one "uncategorized" lane.
The new column is a drop down and when looking in the grid view, the column populates with the name in the corresponding AssignedTo column.
You have been able to get this to work?

Hi Andrew,
When you are in card view, up at the top right there is a "View By" box. Did you select the new column name to view by?
Mine is working fine.

Heidi, Yep I selected the new column -- I just get what is shown in the screenshot above. Strange.

OK, I have the original "Assign To" column that is the contact list. Then I have a new column I call "Card View Resource". In the Card View Resource column I have the formule =[AssignedTo]1. The Card View Resource column is a drop down list column. Edit the drop down to add the resource names. Now when you add a resource to the original assigned to column, it will automatically enter the same name in the new Card View Resource column. Now switch ove to card view... select the new Card View Resource column from the "View By".
Now I hope it works?
Peace!

Hi Heidi,
Got it working now! Thank you!
This is the part I did not intuit: Edit the drop down to add the resource names.

Add my vote. This would be great with out the workaround.

Hi Brett-- This is something our Card View team is already working on for a future release, we'll post here in the Community when we have updates

Add my vote as well. Thanks.

Another vote. If I use a drop down column for the "assigned to", then I get the card view, but can't send a report to "current user".
If I use a contact type column for "assigned to", then I can send a report to "current user" but don't get the card view.
A dilemma...
