Auto Email Form Responses

I am wanting to have completed forms auto emailed to an email address that will be supplied in one of the fields on the form that is not the submitters email. Does anyone know if there is a way to do this? 

I didn't know if this could be done via a workflow but essentially I want the nominated email to received a copy of the responses but not have access to the sheet.

If I understand correctly, you want the PIC to receive a copy of the responses whenever a new form is submitted, without having access to the sheet.

 

When new data comes in from forms, it will automatically populate a new row.

 

I think the automated workflow would help.

Set the "Alert Someone" workflow:

1) When a row is added

2) Send to specific person.  (If the person is not shared to the sheet, then you will have to change the setting to "unrestricted".  Read more here: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/2476586-control-who-is-notified-about-alerts-and-requests)

 

Note: If you need to send different rows to different people, then add additional criteria, for example, If Forms from HR Dept, send to Maggie, If forms from Sales Dept, send to Alan)

Hi Claire,

Yes, there is a way thru using Automation.

1. Make sure that you're permissions are set to Unrestricted.
2. Also, make sure that your Personal Settings are set to Include my changes in sheet notifications
3. Create a Workflow for an Alert and set it up with the fields that you want to send to the email address and change the send settings to Send to contacts in a cell.
