Admin can't edit sheet title
Good afternoon,
While out of the office a sheet title had to be updated, and my fellow license holder, who is an admin for the sheet, was unable to do so under her profile. The rename option is greyed out.
The only option for her to make changes in my absence is to login to my account.
I trust her completely, but it does mess up the history on cells if she changes any while logged in as me.
Blessings,
Loann

Loann,
Are you asking that this be a feature request?
If not, even a Licensed Admin who is not the Sheet Owner can't edit the sheet name:
http://help.smartsheet.com/articles/1155182-sharing-permission-levels.
Sheet Owner:
- All functions available to Admins
- Delete and undelete the sheet
- Re-name the sheet
-
I guess I figured if they had a license, and were made an Admin, that they would have the same rights as I do for that sheet.
So, yes, adding this option as a feature would be wonderful!!
Blessings,
Loann

Hi Loann-- Though I can't imagine that we'll ever open this control up to *all* Admins on a sheet, I could see an option that Owners can use to grant this permission to desired Admins! I'll suggest this to our Product team, thanks for this input.

Thank you, Kennedy. It would be a most appreciated enhancement!

Oh! One other question - I have noticed that if a tab title is changed there is no history available, nor a prompt to save the changes.
Is that a possible future enhancement, as well? -
You can also Save as New - but this removes all cell history in the new sheet.

Hi All,
Can I add another voice to call for a feature like this please. We have a very small team supporting hundreds of projects, and as things stand we can't offer a comprehensive service when somebody is on holiday for instance. We need to wait for the sheet owner to come back before we can rename or move a sheet to a different workspace.
Another solution would be to have a new level of "super-admin" or the ability to delegate authority for instance.
Kind regards,
Chris

Bringing this back up. It seems odd that as both the account Admin and sheet Admin that I cannot update a sheet name. These seems like a fairly standard functionality for an Admin to have.
If you're concerned about all sheet admins being able to update - then that should be a user's business decision on how many admins they grant sheet access to - that should not be something Smartsheets dictates.

Hi There,
I'm also interested in opening up the ability to rename sheets under the admin status.
Is this a possibility?
Thanks, Laura
