Can Approval Forms have addition fields/boxes for them to fill out?

Hi,

Approvers were having trouble with adding links and tab names using just the comments box. many times they were looking for boxes to fill out. So I decided to add new fields to the approver's form as per attached but when the approve opens it, he cannot add any data into the fields (link, tab name etc) they are all greyed out. Is this by design or am I missing a step? If by design does that mean I need to use only the update request form and scrap the approver form altogether? Thanks.

Unfortunately, you're correct and it's not possible at the moment to add anything except in the comment section, but it's an excellent idea!

Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment.

I submitted that enhancement! Meanwhile, since this is in production and I need to change the approval form to an update request form, without causing disruption, is it as easy as going to the advanced options and change it there? What do you recommend? Thanks

It depends!

If you change an Approval Workflow to an Update Request everything connected to the Approval would disappear. You would have to set up the Automation for the Update Request from where the Approval started.
